Email Setup Instructions
Please Read the Important Email Setup Instructions Below
Your service comes with up to five email accounts. If you want to CHANGE an existing VABB email address or CREATE more VABB email addresses, please contact VABB Customer Service
The instructions below have been provided to help you properly setup your VABB email account – for your benefit and to ensure that you receive important notices from VABB.
WHY? All notices regarding system upgrades, enhancements, and new features that may affect your service will be sent to your VABB email address well in advance of the event. There may also be times when VABB will need to send information at a moments notice… or after the fact. For that reason, we recommend that you check your emails often to ensure you receive our notices in advance of the event.
- If you already have a VABB email address(s) - Please read through the instructions below to ensure you will receive our important notices.
- If you DO NOT have a VABB email address - READ STEP 2 NOW! Then please read through the instructions below to ensure you are setup to receive our important notices.
- If you frequently or exclusively use a non-vabb email address - We have provided instructions to ensure that important notices sent to your VABB email address will be forwarded to the non-vabb email.
Step 1: Identify which category best fits your emailing habits:
- I want to CHANGE my new VABB email address.
Please contact us. Complete Step 2, then Step 3 below. - I want MORE VABB email addresses.
Please contact us. Complete Step 2, then Step 3 below. - I will be using my VABB email address as a secondary email only.
- If you use Outlook, set it up to receive your VABB email. Complete Step 3 below.
- If you use another service like Yahoo, AOL, Earthlink, MSN, etc…. to receive important VABB notices, you can have your VABB email forwarded to your inbox at those services.
Choose Step 4 or Step 5...or both. - If you travel, or if you prefer, you can check your VABB emails on-line at the VABB Web Mail site. Complete Step 4 below.
- I will be using my VABB email address as my primary email account. This is the best situation to ensure you will always receive our important notices.
- If you use Outlook, set it up to receive your VABB emails.
Complete Step 3 below.
- If you travel, or if you wish, you can check your VABB emails on-line at the VABB Web Mail site. Complete Step 4 below.
Step 2: Get a VABB email account
Send an email to: support@vabb.com
Please include your VABB account name, your name, and your proposed new email address(s).
- Account Name: Eastside Tractor Sales
- Your Name: John Doe
- Proposed Email Address: johndoe@vabb.com
(you can receive up to five (5) email accounts)
Step 3: To access your VABB email using Outlook or Outlook Express, or Macintosh OS-X:
- Open Outlook
- Select: >Tools > Options > Mail Set-up > Email Accounts
- Follow the steps provided in the Set-up Wizard: Add a new email account > POP3
- Enter the following information:
- Your Name = Enter your name as you want it to appear when someone receives your email
- Email Address = Your full VABB email address (Example: johndoe@vabb.com)
- Incoming POP3 server = mail.vabb.com
- Outgoing SMTP server = mail.vabb.com
- User Name = Your full VABB email address (Example: johndoe@vabb.com)
- Password = Your current password (originally setup as first portion of your email address before the @)
- Setup the SMTP Outgoing Mail. Please use the various methods below:
For Outlook 2000:
- Open Outlook 2000
- Select: >Tools > Accounts
- Highlight the mail account that connects to Virginia Broadband
- Select: >Properties > Servers > Outgoing Mail Server
- Select: >My server requires authentication
- Click on OK to close all screens
For Outlook 2003:
- Open Outlook 2003
- Select: >Tools > E-mail Accounts > View or change existing e-mail accounts
- Highlight the mail account that connects to Virginia Broadband
- Select: >Change > More Settings > Outgoing Servers
- Select: >My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
- Click on OK to close all screens
For Outlook Express:
- Open Outlook Express
- Select: >Tools > Accounts > Mail
- Highlight the mail account that connects to Virginia Broadband
- Select: >Properties > Servers
- Under Outgoing Mail Server – Select: > My server requires authentication
- Click on OK to close all screens
Step 4: Use the VABB Web Mail site
If you prefer, or when you travel... You can access and send/receive your VABB emails at our VABB Web Mail site:
- Log into the VABB Web Mail site by opening an Internet browser and typing: http://mail.vabb.com
- User name = The first portion of your VABB email address (before the @)
- Password = Your current password (originally setup as first portion of your email address… before the @)
- Interface = Your preference – Select "Simple" or "Advanced"
Step 5: Forwarding VABB emails to another service like Yahoo, AOL, Earthlink, MSN, etc…:
- Log into the VABB Web Mail site by opening an Internet browser and typing: http://mail.vabb.com
- User name = The first portion of your VABB email address (before the @)
- Password = Your current password (originally setup as first portion of your email address… before the @)
- Interface = Your preference – Select "Simple" or "Advanced"
- If you chose "Simple", Select: >Settings > (scroll to the bottom of the page) > Enter the email address to forward to.
- If you chose "Advanced", Select: >Preferences > Account Preferences > Mail Settings > Enter the email address to forward to.
Other Tips: How to change your password:
- Log into the VABB Web Mail site by opening an Internet browser and typing: http://mail.vabb.com
- User Name = The first portion of your VABB email address (before the @)
- Password = Your current password (originally setup as first portion of your email address… before the @)
- Interface = Your preference – Select "Simple" or "Advanced"
- If you chose "Simple", Select: >Settings > User Profile > Change Password
Follow instructions to change your password then select: >Change Password - If you chose "Advanced", Select: >Preferences > Change Password
